The Business Table IWAM group was active during 2023 with a series of activities with the objective to empower professional females to develop practical skills and grow their careers.

 

Survey of Needs

Thanks to a survey that was carried out at the beginning of the year the group created a business plan. It included clear goals based on the group needs & wishes.

The results of this survey showed that the group expectations were:

  • Connect with other women who have started their own business in Modena;
  • Identify business opportunities and synergies to develop a career outside our former country;
  • Build a network of opportunities with professional women to share knowledge, experiences and resources;
  • Empower women with coaching, training, speeches and other voluntary resources;
  • Exchange professional services and identify other talented women with similar goals to bond with;
  • Get inspired by other women and make interesting friends!

Year Summary

Activities that took place throughout the year to address those needs resulting from the survey include:

  • 6 co-working sessions with more than 60 participants in total. These included some great lunches to socialize and engage with other professional women;
  • An inspiring session with Sara de Simoni, MD of Tetra Pak Modena, who talked about her challenges of being a female professional;
  • Professional growth session with Fabiana Leal, Career Growth Designer, about how to increase your visibility on LinkedIn;
  • A working lunch to discuss female dress-codes at work, with our colleague Ekaterina Ponomareva. She shared her exercise to review her wardrobe vs. her current lifestyle;
  • A great professional engagement session included the LinkedIn photographs offered by the photographer Claudio Teixeira during our co-working session in June.

In 2023, we only dipped our toes in the water, getting to know how many talented women we have at IWAM. There are many different cultures and languages spoken between us while we’re working.

We have more exciting ideas for 2024, and we hope to continue inspiring and getting inspired by each other, with true female power!
